The Origin of
Hita Tenryosui

Abundant water resources provided by the rich forests and mountains of Mother Nature Hita Tenryosui Water is born in the rich forests nurtured by natural mountains such as Aso, Kuju, and Yabakei, where virgin forests remain.
The Hita basin, situated in Hita City within Oita Prefecture, Japan, is encircled by towering mountains, exceeding a thousand meters in height, such as Kuju, Yabakei Gorge, and the active volcanic presence of Mount Aso, emblematic of Kyushu. This is the origin of "Hita Tenryou Sui." Historically, Hita has earned the moniker "Suikyou" due to its abundant supply of pristine and delectable water.
The water originating from the mountains and flowing into the Hita basin undergoes intricate filtration processes across various layers before reaching "Suikyou" or the land of Hita. Specifically sourced from carefully chosen sites, Hita Tenryou Sui is derived from these meticulously filtered waters.

Hita Tenryosui is Found in Hita City
Which is Full of Natural Blessings

Hita City, Oita Prefecture, is located almost in the center of northern Kyushu, in a basin surrounded by the 1,000-meter-high roofs of Kyushu such as Aso and Kuju, and played a central role in politics, economy, and culture as a "tenryo" directly controlled by the Tokugawa family at the end of the Edo period. Mameda Town, where you can still feel this history, is full of atmosphere, and the townscape is bustling with tourists all year round, making it lively with all those people.
Numerous rivers, large and small, flow into this atmospheric townscape from the surrounding mountains, and the pure, blessed water eventually flows into the waterways that dot the town. The water that flows through the townscape envelops Hita in every season, bringing coolness and healing to the people in the summer, and turning into mist that adds elegance to the town's scenery in the winter.
After traveling through the waterways, the water returns to the Mikuma River, which flows east to west through the center of the city, and eventually becomes the Chikugo River, Kyushu's largest river. Since that time, the people of Hita have been proud of the purity of their water, and they call the water town "Suikyo" rather than "Suigou." This name expresses the fact that "Hita's water is clear and unclouded," and is also a reflection of their love for the area.
"Hita Tenryosui" is a highly rare, natural mineral water that has been refined by passing through many layers of earth, which are natural filters that have taken thousands, even hundreds of millions of years to create.
